AHCA has released a new proposed rule for reporting Patient Safety Culture Survey data (59A-35.115) along with the proposed survey questions for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers and the data submission file layout. This proposed rule has several revisions from what was proposed last November. Legislation passed in 2020 requires hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) to conduct patient safety culture surveys every two years and report that data to AHCA. The proposed rule directs hospitals to administer the survey within two years of the rule's effective date and on a biennial basis thereafter. Hospitals must submit the survey results between June 1 and August 31 every even number of years, and ASCs submit during the same period in an odd number of years. The Agency for Health Care Administration has scheduled a rule workshop on August 3, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. ET. at the Agency for Health Care Administration, 2727 Mahan Drive, Building #2, 3rd floor, Conference Room F, Tallahassee, FL 32308 or by phone, 1(888)585-9008, conference room number, 998-518-088#.
