2022 FHA Annual Meeting Cancellation

The Disaster Assistance Improvement Program (DAIP) provides disaster survivors with information, support, services, and a means to access and apply for disaster assistance through joint data-sharing efforts between federal, tribal, state, local, and private sector partners.

SUBJECT: 2022 FHA Annual Meeting Cancellation
DATE: October 5, 2022

Our hearts are broken for the lives lost and the lives upended by Hurricane Ian. We are humbled by the resiliency and strength of endurance demonstrated by our hospitals and their staff before, during, and in the aftermath of the destruction left behind by Ian. We are grateful to the many hospitals that have supported patient transfers and for sending resources to support the response efforts. This will be a long road for so many of our hospital colleagues, their staff, families, friends, and their communities.

Given the devastation and the work and response efforts underway, FHA is canceling the 2022 FHA Annual meeting, slated for October 12–14 in Orlando. This was an incredibly difficult decision to make but one that we believe reflects current priorities. Our statewide Florida hospital community is strong, dedicated, and resilient. We benefit when hospitals and health care colleagues come together to work on our goals for the future of health care in Florida.

We are thankful for the tremendous support of this year’s meeting. The FHA will continue to host numerous and varied opportunities to convene as a statewide hospital organization and to collaborate on key priorities.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all who are suffering and for the lives lost.
